Infantry Officers’ Sword  1821-1850

The hilt of the Infantry Officers’ Sword is typical of the regulations of 1821.It has a brass beaded knuckle-bow in reverse “P’ with five beads. The pommel is cast in the form of an eagle’s head. There are five beads on the branch of the arch of the quillon. The bone grips are carved with horizontal reeding with a ferrule at the base. The straight blade is engraved with military trophies on both sides.
